My name is Deborah and I am the artistic director, pianist and arranger<\/strong> of the Nino Rota Ensemble.
\nTo better understand the juxtaposition between our music group and film scores, I will answer a typical question that I have been asked dozens of times:<\/p>\n

“Is it possible to play with only a small 3 instruments group, and voice, movie scores written
\nfor large orchestras and to recreate the same magical atmospheres?”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The answer to this question is the hundreds of concerts<\/strong> that my group, the Nino Rota Ensemble<\/a>, has played throughout the world over the past 23 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A nice anecdote that I love to tell our audience, talking about our experience over ten years, is the fact that our first ever concert, the first “experiment” if I can call it, was in Ancona, that is the city where we live. A few days later we were in Stockholm, then Lisbon, Cairo, and so on: we started to travel the world. The originality of the idea of bringing music written for the big screen onto a stage<\/strong> has been a winning one and has improved through the years, also because the repertoire is constantly evolving and renewing and follows new film productions<\/strong>. But why do movie scores<\/strong> attract so much success everywhere, in every country in the world, in cultures that are very different from each other? This happens because movie scores have an extraordinary evocative power<\/strong>, succeeding in eliciting the deepest emotions in a single moment in the listener \/ spectator. Indeed, composers writing for cinema<\/strong> know how to use their skills to write simple and immediate themes that are able to please at first listening and are easily memorized by the public. How many times have we come out of the movie theatre<\/strong> humming the theme song?
\nAnd after days, months or years, all it takes is to just recall it in our head for the emotions related to the film to resurface…truly wonderful!<\/p>\n

Music is able to underline the actions, the moods, the drama and the spontaneity of the many events taken from everyday life. In other words, music makes images \u201ctalk\u201d, enriching them and emphasizing their effectiveness. Our “Cinema & Music” concert<\/strong> is a re-enactment of some of the most beautiful scores written for the films that have made the history of Italian and foreign cinema<\/strong>, a succession of emotions that everyone will have indissolubly linked to the memory of the images of that film: from “Il Padrino” by Nino Rota to “La Vita \u00e8 bella” by Nicola Piovani, from “C’era una volta il West” by Ennio Morricone to “Titanic” by James Horner via “Forrest Gump”, “Piano
\nlessons” and many others. Another salient characteristic of our group, which makes it even more original, is that it
\ncomprises only women musicians<\/strong>. What has united us from the beginning in this project was our great passion for music and cinema<\/strong> as well as a solid friendship that is consolidated at each show. There is nothing left but to invite you to take a magical journey with us that will lead you to experience wonderful feelings: from tears to laughter, from joy to melancholy…emotions that enrich our lives giving them a special and unique flavour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
